Therefore, we left behind our successful careers at ENR's leading contractors and stepped out of our comfort zone. Consequently, in December 2019 Broad & Wall was born."

WHO WE ARE

We are industry practitioners with an established track record of HR leadership within the international construction sector.

 

Our HR management expertise spans leading international construction companies with annual revenues ranging from seven hundred million dollars to five billion dollars.

Throughout our career, we have designed, implemented, and managed clear and resilient HR frameworks both at site and corporate level covering Talent Sourcing and Development, Compensation, Rewarding and Recognition, Leadership Development, Succession Planning, Career Management, Employee Engagement, Performance Culture Development, and Change Management initiatives including award-winning HR digital transformation projects.

We have a cultural and commercial understanding of how value-add HR drives employee engagement, talent development, performance, and business growth.

WHY WE STARTED BROAD & WALL

Our two decades of experience in all aspects of human resources in international construction companies have taught us that "Recruitment" is the core business of HR departments and takes most of our time as HR professionals. 

As many of the companies did, we occasionally outsourced recruiting to save our time, resources and reduce pressure.

 

However, even with the most experienced hiring experts in the international construction industry, we experienced several challenges along the way;

 

  • We had to explain the terminology and nuances of our industry, 

  • We had to clarify the industry-specific roles and responsibilities,

  • We gave endless feedback on proposed CVs,

  • We lost time and confidence in the process.

Therefore, we left behind our successful and lucrative careers at ENR's leading contractors and stepped out of our comfort zone.

Consequently, in December 2019 Broad & Wall was born.

Asli Pocan Broad Wall

Asli Pocan is Founder of and Managing Partner at Broad & Wall HR Consultancy.  

She comes with 24 years of experience at ENR's leading international contractors across the EMEA region in senior human resources leadership roles with board-level representation.

 

Before establishing Broad & Wall, she developed and led people strategies in all areas of HR including Talent Management and Succession Planning, Talent Acquisition, Performance, Reward and Recognition Management, Organizational Development and Transformation, Change Management, Diversity Initiatives in culturally diverse organizations.

As a part of the executive team, she provided strategic support to leadership teams related to human capital management across 10 countries with major P&L operating responsibilities.

She holds a B.Sc. degree in Psychology from Middle East Technical University (METU) and completed certificate programs on Executive Leadership from Harvard Business School. She speaks native Turkish, fluent English, and can communicate in Spanish.

Ismail Kurban

Ismail Kurban is Founder of and Managing Partner at Broad & Wall HR Consultancy. 

He brings 16 years of experience, of which 13 years in the international construction industry.

 

Before establishing Broad & Wall, he worked as a Human Resources Executive for an ENR top 23 international contractor with a $5.4 billion global turnover. He served as the primary point person for all HR activities including Local and Overseas Recruitment, Performance Evaluation, Talent Management, Compensation, Recognition and Reward Management, Employee Engagement of country offices, and major projects in the EMEA and CIS regions. Prior to that, he worked as an HR Executive at another ENR-listed international contractor with multi-billion-dollar projects in the Gulf region and North Africa.

In his early career, he worked for a global executive search firm where he undertook international assignments in EMEA and CIS regions in Construction, FMCG, Technology, Financial Services, Retail, Real Estate, Pharma Healthcare & Biotech sectors.

 

Ismail holds an M.Sc. in Human Resources Management from Istanbul University. He speaks native Turkish, fluent English.
